Pets as Therapy

Many people have pets as companions and research has shown that being in the presence of an animal can reduce stress and increase our feel-good hormones. This was definitely felt by our founder, Lyndsay, when she got her pet, Louie, in 2020. His kind and gentle temperament meant that he aced his Pets As Therapy assessment and now he and Lyndsay regularly visit two schools in South London to help children with their reading, provide comfort to those facing some of the difficulties of life and generally provide excitement for pupils and teachers alike. As a national charity, Pets As Therapy enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in communities across the UK. They strive to ensure that everyone, no matter their circumstances, have access to the companionship of an animal. You can find out more about their work below. Keep your eye out for Lyndsay and Louie’s adventures on our social media platforms.
